Job Details Hours: Monday-Friday, 4:00pm - 8:00pm, 20 hours per week. Location: WDH Lee, NH. Sign‑on bonus & benefits eligible. Join our team of MRI Technologists who work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment focusing on safe, high‑quality patient care using Philips Blue Seal Magnets. Summary Under general supervision, the MRI technologist will safely perform magnetic resonance imaging studies using a magnetic resonance imaging system. The scope includes preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring images, performing computer processing, displaying images, selecting appropriate imaging protocols, and performing quality assurance scans. The technologist works cohesively with the MRI Department and consults with colleagues such as radiologists, nurses, child life specialists, and rotates as needed. Staff must be available for occasional overnight shifts and holidays (excluding per‑dime technologists). Essential Functions Ensure accurate patient identification and adherence to safety protocols in accordance with Joint Commission guidelines. Execute MRI scans for ambulatory, inpatient, and emergency department patients, adjusting parameters to maintain diagnostic quality and managing MRI safety in complex care environments, including adult anesthesia. Insert IV catheters as needed and prepare for and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, including the use of the MR‑compatible power injector. Record all information regarding contrast injections appropriately in the electronic medical record and perform point‑of‑care testing where applicable. Instruct patients and visitors on MRI safety procedures and enforce safety policies. Function as a final checkpoint before scanning, identify hazardous malfunctions, secure the area, and remove patients and personnel from the magnet bay during emergencies. Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanner and related equipment, record QA results, and report any potential equipment‑related problems to the supervisor. Assist Practice Assistant and other department staff with scheduling and transporting patients, inventory, filing, and other duties as needed. Qualifications MRI Registered Technologist with ARRT or ARMRIT required upon hire. NH Medical Imaging License (MR)(R) required. Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Experience as an MRI Technologist 1‑2 years required. Education: Other Certificate/Diploma in Medical Imaging required or Associate’s Degree in Medical Imaging preferred (no substitution of experience for degree). Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Operate complex electronic equipment and perform quality control procedures. Transfer patients to the MRI scan table and push the table from the prep room to the exam room; lift and transfer patients to stretchers. Provide appropriate care to various age populations, oversee students, and may work with lab animals for research. Maintain ethical standards (patient confidentiality, professional conduct). Utilize departmental tools to confirm contrast dosing and patient safety (EMR MRI search engine, electronic dose calculators, PACS). Collaborate with local MRI leadership to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal scanner utilization; maintain effective relationships and communication with all staff.
