Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer - FGP

Position Summary Cardiac/Vascular Sonographer - FGP. Responsible for performing all cardiac ultrasound studies including echocardiograms, treadmill stress echocardiograms, pharmacological stress echocardiograms, echocardiograms with ultrasound enhancing agents, and agitated saline studies. Job Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of NYU policies and protocols and incorporate them into the performance of duties. Perform all cardiac ultrasound studies as listed. Ensure all studies adhere to NYU protocols and IAC standards. Provide patient comfort, identify self to patient, verify patient identity, explain procedure, and provide privacy. Create preliminary reports based on scan completion, document scans per departmental procedures, enter, maintain, and record all patient data. Use judgment to determine sufficiency of procedures for proper diagnoses. Operate technical equipment to perform ultrasound studies. Alert medical staff of abnormalities requiring immediate attention. Compare present studies to previous studies to monitor changes in status. Assist with maintaining accreditation compliance and documentation; submit appropriate studies for accreditation application. Lift, push, or move patients and equipment over 150 pounds, with or without assistive devices. Carry out assignments within realistic time. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associate's degree in a related field or completion of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program. Registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or with Cardiovascular Credentialing International as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and maintenance of active registry status. Required Licenses Reg Cardiac Congntl Sonogrphr, Diagnostic Cardic Sonogrphr-Ct, Reg Cardiac Sonographer - Cert. Salary The salary range for this role is $115,334.71 - $127,132.51 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
