Production Supervisor - Hose

The Production Supervisor – Hose is responsible for the company’s Metal and Non-metal hose fabrication, assembly, inventory, receiving, and packaging, through the coordination and directing of activities that are consistent with established policies, goals, and objectives.

Essential Functions

• Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity, and efficiency throughout the company’s hose business line.
• Hire, develop, and direct the assigned staff to ensure that all relevant operational systems/procedures are continuously evaluated for proper operation, relevance, efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction.
• Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions to the Operations Manager for consideration.
• Maintain and adapt work procedures to foster a zero-tolerance quality policy consistent with VSP, customer, and market expectations.
• Identify and immediately address concerning patterns, including heightened error rates, overtime procedures and usage, and time management matters.
• Assign and review Corrective Action Reports (CARS) and other quality issues with the Operations Manager.
• Provide packaging and inventory analysis including forecasts for use in managing related risks and opportunities.
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels while maintaining non-Inventory stock supplies.
• Able to complete the receiving and adjusting of components in Sage and completing the daily inventory cycle counts.
• Responsible for daily schedule efficiency of production workflow to include emergency orders.
• Ensure work environment remains organized and safety-oriented.
• Perform all necessary supervisory functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned.
• Project a favorable image of the company to promote, foster, and enhance public recognition of the company and its products and services.
• Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate which will be conducive to maximum employee morale, productivity, and efficiency/effectiveness.
  

Experience / Education

• High school diploma
• Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing techniques (Preferred)
• Extensive experience in welding, production, manufacturing processes
• Advanced certifications in industrial, manufacturing processes (Preferred)
• Supervisor experience in the manufacturing/distribution Industry (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time, Monday–Friday.  Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.  The work hours will be determined based on the assigned facility.

Travel

Occasional out-of-the-area and overnight travel expected.
