About the Position

Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Occupational Therapist Specialty: Occupational Therapy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8H Days Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute experience preferred, 3-5 years of experience preferred License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: Experience with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiac conditions Experience in inpatient and outpatient settings preferred Ability to conduct bedside swallow assessments and modified barium swallow studies preferred Spanish-speaking candidates preferred Description: Work in a rehabilitation and cardiac environment with inpatient and outpatient services. Patients may present with spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, cardiac issues, and orthopedic conditions. A charge nurse and manager are available seven days a week, primarily working Monday through Friday with alternating weekends. Weekend coverage will consist of every other Saturday or Sunday, with a day off during the week for the weeks that a weekend shift is worked. The unit has a collaborative team structure with nurse aides and rehabilitation aides present. Shifts are eight hours long, starting at 6:30 AM, with varied schedules and a 30-minute lunch break. Float between units is required as needed. Experience with physical disabilities is beneficial, though pediatric experience is not required for travelers. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to four shifts during the 13-week assignment.
