TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Richmond, Virginia, 23225!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience and the ability to read EKGs. Ability to handle a fast-paced unit with several admissions, discharges, transfers, and procedures. Description: General comments about the unit include its focus on cardiac telemetry. The unit consists of 25 beds with a combination of day and night shift staff. During the day shift, there is 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, 1 unit secretary, and 2-3 techs. The night shift includes 1 charge RN, 6 RNs, and 1 tech. Patient ratios are 4:1. Equipment includes EKG machines, Hoyer lifts, and LifePak. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. Most recruited candidates must possess the ability to set priorities and modify patient care in response to changing conditions. Candidates are expected to utilize problem-solving skills and demonstrate good judgment. Timely notifications to physicians on patient condition changes are essential. Typical procedures performed on the unit include EKGs. Most cardiac procedures take place in the Cath Lab, not on the unit. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude. Floating to Med Surg is a low probability. The designated dress code includes navy scrubs. Weekend commitments include every third Friday and Saturday night shifts, plus an additional Friday or Saturday night shift each schedule period. Assistance will be needed during holidays, including Halloween and Christmas.
