Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Day shift: 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30), with every other weekend and holiday required.

Job Description

The Neuro Med/Surg Tele Nurse will work in a telemetry overflow unit that primarily serves patients with neuro-related diagnoses. The unit is a Certified Stroke Center and a Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU). Nurses will have the opportunity to practice a range of skills related to neuro and telemetry patient care.

Responsibilities

• Manage and care for patients with neurological and medical-surgical needs.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation.
• Administer medications and manage blood product transfusions.
• Support the interdisciplinary team in patient assessments and interventions.
• Participate in patient education regarding neuro conditions and treatments.
• Maintain compliance with infection control and safety protocols.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of Neurology and Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• NIHSS certification required.
• Basic EKG testing required; certification provided by the agency.
• Valid Maryland or Compact RN license required at the time of submission.
