CT Technologist

Responsible for the operation of diagnostic CT and the performance of all CT procedures at a technical level not requiring direct supervision. Possess a positive and courteous attitude, and take the initiative to go beyond what is expected in a teamwork environment.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology; associate's degree preferred.
• Licensure: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; Certification by A.R.R.T on Computer Tomography or registry eligible. Certification by Texas Medical Board. BLS required.

Skills:

• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Ability to recognize subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas.
• Knowledge of radiographic examinations as well as procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
• Knowledge of radiographic equipment operation and radiation safety.
• Knowledge of patient transfers and positioning technique.
