Description: An MRI technologist takes detailed pictures of the internal body by using magnetic resonance imaging. Magnetic resonance imaging can detect problems in the body relating to the chest, lungs, joints, brain, and spinal cord. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs all types of imaging procedures and operates all equipment safely and properly including scanners, injectors, and monitors.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages, adapting protocols as necessary.
- Properly screens each patient, visitor, employee who enters the MRI facility for contraindications for admission to the magnet room.
- Reviews all images of all exams, repeating sequences as necessary for best possible result.
- Participates in the establishment of scan protocols and in execution of specific applications.
- Responsible for contrast administration and maintaining knowledge and practice of MRI safety techniques.
- Valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, (MR) preferred
- Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
- Vaccinated for Influenza, seasonal
