Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

A psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner is trained to care for patients with mental health issues across the lifespan. Nurse practitioners are qualified in assessment, diagnosis, planning and evaluation, often providing some of the same services as medical doctors. Job Summary The psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner role includes a series of steps in patient care such as: Carry out examinations and mental health assessments Diagnose psychiatric illness Educate the patient or family Prescribe a treatment plan, including medications Lead psychotherapy sessions Coordinate services for other healthcare components Qualifications / Licenses Required CRNP-PMH (Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric Mental Health) APRN-PMH (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse - Psychiatric Mental Health) DEA Control Substance License Note: Must be licensed to provide services in Washington, DC #J-18808-Ljbffr Kahak DC
