Our client, a prestigious international law firm seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to join its Accounting & Finance leadership team in Washington, DC.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional with strong financial management and leadership experience to advance their career within a highly respected global law firm.
- Salary: $140,000–$160,000
- Location: Washington, DC
- Schedule: Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Assist with partner accounting, capital accounts, and distributions.
- Collaborate directly with the Controller and senior finance leadership.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of accounting experience, including 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA or Master's degree strongly preferred.
- Law firm or professional services accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, audits, and internal controls.
- Experience with Aderant or Sage is highly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills and a stable professional background.
