Physician's AssistantEssential Responsibilities:Examines patient, takes medical history, records results, and makes preliminary diagnosis or decides on follow-up procedures.Performs therapeutic procedures such as immunizations, injections, suturing and wound care, and managing infection.Exercises professional judgment regarding consultation with supervising physicians concerning appropriate treatment.Develops and implements patient care plans, instructs and counsels patients, and records progress.Prescribes medications to the extent allowable by state guidelines and clinic regulations.Provides general health education regarding matters such as proper diet, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.Perform other duties as assignedAdditional Responsibilities:Qualifications:Education/Experience:Physician's AssistantMaster's degree from an accredited PA program plus two years of clinical training following completion of PA program.State accreditation based on certifying PANCE exam and State of Michigan Licensure.Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every two years and passing a recertification examination every six years.OrNurse PractitionerMaster' of Nursing (NP) or Doctor of Nursing (DNP)American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)State Licensure – NPs must obtain a state-specific Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license to practice.Continued employment requires 100 hours of continuing medical education every five yearsSkills, Knowledge & Abilities:Must demonstrate skills necessary to provide leadership and direction to staff and the population servedGood writing and communication skillsComputer Skills:Experience with medical records systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applicationsCertificates and Licenses:Complete Safe From Harm training, and keep current as neededValid Michigan Chauffeur License and approved by The Salvation Army MVRThis position is PT/Contractual.The Salvation Army is an equal opportunity employer.
