HousepersonThe Houseperson supports the housekeeping team by maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the hotel's public and back of house areas. The candidate will assist room attendants with supplies and tasks that ensure a high standard of guest satisfaction.Key Responsibilities:Maintain cleanliness of public areas including lobbies, hallways, restrooms, elevators, and meeting spacesAssist room attendants with daily support as requested, such as restocking linens, preparations of carts, restocking of housekeeping closets/storage, removal of soiled linens and wasteDeliver items to guest rooms such as extra towels, linens, or amenities upon requestRemove trash, soiled linens, and debris from guest floors and service areasAssist housekeeping staff with room cleaning tasks as neededReport maintenance issues or safety concerns promptlyFollow hotel cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standardsPosition Requirements:Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other departments.The ability to communicate effectively in English with guests, managers, and colleagues.Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration.Understand and use safe work practices for all safety precautions including Emergency Evacuation Procedures, Violence in the Workplace, Accident Reporting, OSHA Compliance, and Bloodborne Pathogen Procedures.Comply with all policies as outlined in the Handbook, Property Supplement, or otherwise issued including time and attendance expectations, uniform and dress code standards, anti-harassment policy, and substances in the workplace.Attend all scheduled meetings and training sessions.Physical Requirements:Ability to remain standing for up to 8 hoursAbility to walk the property and grounds frequentlyAbility to move up and down stairs frequentlyAbility to move quickly based on guest needsAbility to regularly move and lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity, such as squeezing, spraying, folding, polishing, scrubbing, dusting, etc.)Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently, including above head, and repetitively during a shiftAbility to bend and kneel frequentlyAbility to visibly survey property areas clearly and use an eye for detail to inspect guest rooms for cleanlinessAbility to communicate and exchange information effectivelyAbility to read, write, speak, and understand basic EnglishAbility to perform assigned tasks, operate equipment, and complete job duties in a safe mannerAbility to work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend daysRequired Qualifications:Professional cleaning experience preferred, but not requiredSuccessful completion of background checkDemonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Expresses sincere enthusiasm for the role and cleanlinessMust know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.This is a full-time, year-round position working at the AC Hotel Tuscaloosa Downtown in Tuscaloosa, AL.
