Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education teaching certification
• Experience working with elementary or middle school students, ideally in special education settings
• Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Understanding of strategies for non-verbal communication and supporting students with a range of needs
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with paraprofessionals and other team members
• Positive, adaptable mindset and a passion for fostering student independence

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach 5th and 6th grade students in both pull-out groups and in a special education classroom
• Modify lesson plans to accommodate varying learning abilities and communication needs
• Oversee student progress, maintaining accurate records and reporting assessments
• Partner with paraprofessionals to provide a supportive, structured environment for non-verbal students
• Foster a nurturing classroom that encourages participation, social development, and learning
