Registered Nurse Radiation Oncology

Major Responsibilities:Utilizes the Nursing Process for the delivery and management of patient's care from Admission to Discharge, appropriate to the developmental age of the patient population.Performs patient assessment/reassessment according to standard procedure.Develops and coordinates individual plan of care including discharge planning.Directs, supervises, coordinates and evaluate nursing care within assigned clinical setting.Delegates appropriately to others in accordance with job description and competency level.II. Position Qualifications:License/Certification/Education:Required:Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification required.BLS is a requirement for every RN unless advance cardiac life support (ACLS) certification is current, in addition to any unit specific certifications and competencies.Preferred:Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.ONCC certification applicable to specific unitExperience/Skills:Required:Thorough knowledge of the discipline of Nursing.Minimum 1 year of Oncology related experience within the last three yearsChemotherapy-related experience within the last three yearsIII. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment.License/Certification/Education:Required:Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.BLS through either American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is a requirement for every RN within 30 days of hire.ACLS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (Gannett, MP1, ICU, ED, Cath Lab, Endo, IR, PACU, Float Pool) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.PALS through American Heart Association (AHA) required in select areas (PACU, ED) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.NRP Advanced Provider through American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) required in select areas (Maternity) within 6 months or first scheduled course offering whichever is sooner.Preferred:Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing highly preferred.Radiation Oncology experience preferred.OCN preferred.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.We're striving to make respect a part of everything we do at UMass Memorial Health – for our patients, our community and each other.
