Patient Care Assistant

Pay Range: $17.50 - $24.50

A successful candidate's actual pay rate will be based on several factors including relevant experience, skills, training, certifications and education.

HSHS is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join our Medical/Surgical Unit at Good Shepherd Hospital. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge in a fast-paced environment with various acuities.

Position Specifics:

• Department: Medical Surgical Unit
• Core Function: Nursing Support
• Schedule: Full-Time, 36 hours; day shift; 3 - 12 hour shifts, every other weekend
• Facility: Good Shepherd Hospital
• Location: Shelbyville, IL
• Compensation: Compensation that aligns with your experience

Education Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is preferred.

Experience Qualifications:

• 1 year nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience; or 6 months nursing assistant or Patient Care Assistant experience and certification as indicated below.

Certifications, Licenses and Registrations:

• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT) in the state of practice is required with 6 months experience as noted above. Certification is not required for those with greater than one year experience.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) is required within 30 days upon hire.
