For 35 years, our established and growing team has supported customers with dependable material handling solutions. We're adding an Industrial Crane Service Technician near Billings, MT—someone who thrives on diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing overhead cranes and hoists in the field.

A day in the life

Morning starts with your truck stocked and service calls queued. You arrive on-site to inspect an overhead crane, trace a fault through a 480VAC 3‑phase motor control circuit, and restore smooth operation. Midday, you complete scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections, documenting every finding with clear, timely reports and checklists. In the afternoon, you might wire and assemble a new crane, bring it online at start-up, then sit with the customer to explain recommended repairs, safety considerations, and next steps. Throughout it all, you follow strict safety procedures, wear PPE, and leave the work area clean and orderly.

What you'll handle

• Troubleshoot, repair, and inspect overhead cranes and hoists
• Perform scheduled on-site maintenance and formal inspections
• Evaluate equipment performance, identify solutions, and recommend repair methods, techniques, and/or parts
• Complete all forms, reports, and inspection checklists neatly and on time
• Wire, assemble, install, and commission new overhead crane systems
• Consult with customers on repair options and safety-related issues
• Adhere to all safety procedures, using appropriate PPE
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment

What you bring

• Strong command of AC/DC theory and the ability to troubleshoot 480VAC 3‑phase motor control systems
• Comfort working across electrical and mechanical systems and devices
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Willingness to travel around the state and out of town as needed
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and PLC programming is a plus
• Prior overhead crane maintenance experience is a plus
