Quality Inspector - Electrical Connectors / Cable Assembly

We are seeking a Quality Inspector with experience in electrical connectors, cable assemblies, or wire harness manufacturing . This role is responsible for inspecting incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure they meet strict quality and electrical performance standards. You will be a firm advocate of quality and play a key role in our long-term success.

Only candidates with electrical assembly, cable/wire harness, or connector inspection experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and mechanical inspections on electrical connectors, cable assemblies, and wire harnesses for in-process and final QC.

• Inspect crimping, solder joints, contacts/pins, insulation, and connector integrity using microscopes (10x or higher) and other tools.

• Use oscilloscopes (CRT or digital), continuity testers, and other electronic test equipment to verify electrical performance according to test procedures.

• Interpret basic waveforms and electrical signals to determine whether products meet specifications.

• Read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and visual work instructions .

• Identify, document, and report non-conforming materials, defects, and product quality problems .

• Communicate quality issues promptly to the Quality Manager and support corrective actions as needed.

• Use computers to generate inspection reports and maintain records (Excel, Word, and internal systems).

• Follow company Quality Management System, safety procedures, and ISO9001/AS9100 practices .

• Perform general office tasks related to quality documentation (filing, copying).

• Work overtime on weekdays and occasional weekends when required.

• Other duties may be assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum 2 years of quality inspection experience in electrical manufacturing, connectors, cable assemblies, or wire harness environments.

• Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards for cable and wire harness assemblies (preferred; willing to train the right candidate).

• Ability to use inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, microscopes (10x), force gauges, and basic electrical test instruments.

• Experience using oscilloscopes or similar electronic diagnostic equipment to test electrical products.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English and perform basic math.

• Ability to understand and follow product drawings, specifications, and work instructions .

• Basic computer skills; MS Excel and Word a plus.

• Knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems helpful.

• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong attention to detail, reliability, and commitment to quality.

• Willingness to be trained, learn quickly, and adapt to new procedures.

• Willingness to work overtime when needed.
