Job Description
The Access Control & Camera Technician plays a critical role in installing and commissioning access control and security systems within local commercial buildings. Working primarily in a small team environment, the technician focuses on cable installation, system wiring, hardware setup, and system commissioning to ensure secure access and surveillance functionality. This role involves minimal travel to multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Run and terminate access control composite cables and Cat-6 network cabling
- Wire controllers and commission access control systems
- Install cameras, wireless access points (WAPs), contacts, and readers
- Set up access control hardware and configure systems using generic network tools
- Install fiber optic cabling and equipment racks as needed
- Troubleshoot equipment and ensure proper system functionality
- Maintain technical documentation
- Collaborate effectively within a small team
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in access control and security system installation
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of access control systems and CCTV camera installation
- Experience with network cabling (Cat-6) and system commissioning
- Strong skills in equipment troubleshooting and technical documentation
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
