Title: ACT Clinical Supervisor Youth ACT (IRMHS) Clinical Supervisor

FLSA Status: Full-time, Salary, Exempt

Location: St Paul, MN

Purpose:

This position leads an interdisciplinary Youth Assertive Community Treatment (YACT) Team, modeling high-quality clinical services and applying servant leadership principles to prioritize the needs of the team and individuals served. The role fosters trust, collaboration, and empowerment, delivering person-centered, community-based wraparound services to individuals with serious mental health and/or substance use disorders, promoting self-directed, fulfilling lives while minimizing hospitalizations and external resource reliance. The Youth ACT Team Specializes in working with clients between the ages 14-21, who are experiencing the first episodes of their mental illness and assist with transitioning successfully into adult services as clinically indicated.

Key Responsibilities:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily team operations, provide treatment oversight, and offer clinical supervision and guidance in collaboration with the psychiatric provider, ensuring alignment with Youth ACT statutes.
  • Supervise, hire, train, and manage staff performance to align with agency values, mission, and a culture of accountability.
  • Monitor and manage client census, referrals, intakes, and transfers for care transitions.
  • Facilitate team meetings to promote collaboration, team cohesion and ensure coordinated care.
  • Oversee client records for progress tracking and regulatory compliance and monitor, review and approve team clinical documentation as required.
  • Assess and monitor the mental health needs of clients, including completing diagnostic assessments, updating treatment plans, and providing direct care/individual therapy services in a community-based setting as needed.
  • Collaborate with other service providers and natural supports, ensuring clear communication and coordination of services.
  • Complete required documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in professional development activities and continuing education, particularly in youth and adolescent mental health,
  • Provide supervision as required by licensure and team needs.
  • Lead initiatives to promote diversity, respect, and cultural competence in the workplace.
  • Perform other duties as needed to support client care and department operations.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of mental health diagnoses and evidence-based treatments for Adolescents with Severe Mental Health Diagnoses, particularly psychotic disorders and co-occurring substance use disorders.
  • Familiarity with community resources, county benefits, and mental health services.
  • Understanding of laws, statutes, policies, and requirements affecting services.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong rapport-building, assessment, and crisis intervention skills, including de-escalation and connecting clients to higher levels of care.
  • Proficient clinical judgment, particularly with youth and adolescents, to make decisions and provide direction to the team.
  • Independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in an interdisciplinary team environment.
  • Skilled in identifying early signs of psychosis and managing symptoms using therapeutic approaches.
  • Capable of managing workload, prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to adapt to and lead change and develop new approaches to meet client needs.
  • Skill in providing constructive feedback and recognizing staff contributions for growth.

Working Conditions:

  • This position primarily works in the field as services are provided to clients wherever needed.
  • Some activities may be required in the community.
  • Travel may be required to other program sites.
  • Requires transporting clients in a personal vehicle regularly.
  • This position has the potential to come into contact with bodily fluids, communicable diseases, tobacco smoke, and household pets.
  • Prolonged periods at a desk, working on a computer.
  • Walking and standing continuously for hours at a time.
  • Manual dexterity for tasks such as taking notes, using technological devices for documentation, or assisting clients with certain activities if needed.
  • Must be ambulatory and able to negotiate stairways.
  • The ability to lift and carry heavy weights that could be up to 25 pounds

Required Education and Experience:

  • Master’s Degree in one of the behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Licensed as a Mental Health Professional (LICSW, LMFT, or LPCC) in the state of Minnesota.

Preferred Experience:

  • Two years' experience working with Adolescents or individuals with SPMI in a community-based or ACT setting and some leadership experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a valid Class 'D' Driver’s License, own a reliable vehicle, maintain a satisfactory driving record, and carry automobile insurance in the employee’s name with necessary insurance.
  • Availability for 24/7 on-call crisis support on a rotating schedule.
  • Must not be currently receiving or have received services from Guild within the last two years.

The salary range for this position is between $78,000 to $89,000 annually. The range reflects the minimum and maximum salary for the position. Compensation will depend on the candidate’s professional experience, skills, and relevant education, training, and certifications.
