Nurses on this unit provide compassionate, specialized care while monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, delivering chemotherapy and other treatments, and supporting patients through complex care needs. Care provided on this unit includes chemotherapy, hospice, radiation, stem cell transplant/CAR-T, radioactive iodine, and symptom management.Work within one of the country’s largest cancer networks, accredited as an Integrated Network Cancer Program by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including board-certified and fellowship-trained cancer experts, to support individualized patient care.Provide care in an environment that prioritizes advanced, evidence-based technology and treatments, including innovative radiation therapies, robotic surgery, and HIPEC.Education RequirementsDegree or diploma in Registered Nursing requiredBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferredStudents currently completing an accredited nursing program are encouraged to applyCertification/Licensure RequirementsRegistered Nurse license requiredStudents in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be consideredBasic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hireOncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara-approved Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Card required within 6 months of hireExperience RequirementsNo prior RN experience requiredNew Graduate RNs Are Welcome to ApplyThis unit welcomes both new graduate nurses and experienced nurses transitioning into oncology or intermediate care.
