District Support Pharmacist, FT

Within our retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence by serving as role models for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for the pharmacy team. Responsibilities The DSP’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Living our purpose by managing and improving patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunization practices. Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the District Performance Coordinator. Overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap. Ensuring safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails. Assuming Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when serving as the sole or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty. Coaching the pharmacy team to provide compassionate care, collaborating with patients’ healthcare teams, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues. Offering and delivering immunizations, engaging and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize. Managing pharmacy inventory, protecting cold‑chain products, and guiding best practices. Remaining flexible for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic. Maintaining clinical and technical skills through required trainings and continuing medical education. Providing pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible. Complying with federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, ethical principles, and CVS Health policies. Essential Functions Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require. Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends. Complete required training within designated timeframes. Required Qualifications Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located. Active National Provider Identifier (NPI). Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting. Physical Demands Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods. Lift, scan, and bag items, reach overhead and stretch to grasp items. Use fingers repetitively in picking, pinching, typing, or working primarily with fingers. Lift up to 20 lbs and/or exert up to 20 lbs of force; frequently lift up to 10 lbs. Maintain close visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing, viewing a terminal, and reading small parts.
