Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2200 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 10 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Washington license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - Providence Health & Services and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - Providence Health & Services.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Cannot have any hits/suspensions on license or any background hits from any point in the past. If you have a multistate/compact nursing license, you will be required to complete a one time 6 hour suicide prevention training according to the WA state regulations.

Special Requests: RTO must be listed at time of submission. RTO Restrictions: None, prefer to keep it under 7 days. All positions at Providence Health & Services require that any and all lab items requested during onboarding be completed within 72 hours of signing a contract - no exceptions. This means candidates must be responsive and willing to go to a lab to complete health orders ASAP after signing. Failure to comply may lead to a pushed start or cancellation as assessed by the facility. References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Unit Details: Ratios: 1:4 (Days); 1:5 (NOC); 1:5 (Weekends). Adult and geriatric patient population. The unit has both dementia/autistic and acute patients. Surgical procedures requiring overnight stays, procedural observation patients, medical observation patients, some medical inpatient, and some long length of stay patients. Depending on patient status, long length of stay patients are assessed once a week by providers and every shift by nurses. The medical patients are seen daily by providers and have 8 hour vitals. There is a dining room for patients to eat meals, do activities, and develop relationships with other patients. The goal is to get patients to baseline or better to be able to place them in adult family homes or long-term care facilities. Mixture of both long length of stay and 8 acute care medical beds. There are a variety of diagnoses. These patients are long term care and are awaiting placement, they are the hard-to-place patients. Some patients are heavy care, 1-2 person assist, may take medications in applesauce or pudding, crushed or whole, some are total care and require a lot of help. Most are incontinent and many have behavioral issues. Dementia and other cognitive issues, autism, and psychosis patients. The unit takes up to 8 acute medical patients.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend requirement: every other weekend. No on-call, not at this time.

Floating Requirements: Floating is required. Travelers regularly float between various like units and MS units to meet department needs, within skill set/scope, and will not be required to float midshift.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment.
