About the Position

Registered Nurse – CVOR (Cardiothoracic)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-hour shifts (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) | 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM | Holiday call may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases including CABG, TAVR, LVAD, Impella, valve procedures, ascending and descending repairs, and heart and lung transplants
• Support a broad range of surgical specialties including Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic/Biliary MIS (Da Vinci), Plastics, Endocrine, and Bariatric procedures
• Maintain radiation safety compliance , including use of a radiation badge (provided by agency)
• Document patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
• Participate in emergency response team assignments as required during hurricane season (June through November)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required; first-time travelers to this setting accepted only with 5+ years of experience
• Active South Carolina RN license or multi-state RN license must be in hand at start of contract ; candidates with a pending SC license may be considered with proof of application or confirmation of ability to complete the SC walk-through process
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
• Previous permanent or PRN staff must have been separated from the facility system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience circulating complex minimally invasive surgical cases, including robotic-assisted (Da Vinci) procedures
• Familiarity with high-acuity cardiac surgical environments including transplant and mechanical circulatory support cases
• Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center, teaching facility, or Magnet-designated hospital
