Location: This position is to work in Mauritius and in a remote mode and it is on night shift (From 1 pm to 10pm)

About the opportunity: We are looking for a Software Developer II to join the team that is building search, AI Assistant, and AI agents capabilities into our Dayforce product. The developer has an opportunity to join a team of strong developers and work on a high visibility and high impact product - you will change the way millions of customers globally interact with our product on a day-to-day basis across 150+ countries. The ideal candidate has strong technical skills and a desire to keep up to date with advances in big data technologies.

Your impact will be evident through your effective participation in the entire lifecycle of our software including design, analysis, prototyping, development, testing and support of our products. You will work closely and collaborate with clients, prospects, implementation partners, and Dayforce personnel to envision and deliver the required functionality.

What you'll get to do:

• Contribute to the design and implementation of highly scalable and available innovative solutions that include building a new search service, federating data, developing & consuming APIs, and implementing a search user interface
• Follow architecture design, and implement on strategic technical directions in continuous improvement of the search service
• Learn and implement new technologies to ensure solution scalability, maintainability and quality
• Automate release processes for all integrations & support deployed solutions
• Maintain integrations and tooling (e.g., bugfixes, enhancements, CI/CD updates)
• Scrupulously adhere to industry best practices
• Develop your technical skills through continuous learning
• Analyze, design, prototype, program, test and support– the complete software lifecycle in your hands!
• Participate in Product discussions to advise on and influence the Product Roadmap

Skills and experience we value:

• Experienced full stack developer who possesses a strong understanding of the challenges in implementing a search service and experience
• 2+ years of Python and C#
• 2+ years of experience in building and leading development of SaaS and/or cloud-based applications
• Familiary with ELK (ElasticSearch, Logstash and Kibana) Stack
• Good knowledge of Event Driven services, Docker and Kubernetes.
• 2+ year experience with Azure cloud technologies
• Demonstrated understanding data structure, algorithms, design patterns
• History of developing and participating in the design of web services, microservices, or SOA
• Understanding of advanced programming constructs such as multi-threaded programming, dependency injection, LINQ, advanced SQL, object relational mapping
• Technical fluency; comfort discussing or diving deep on technology concepts, options and new opportunities with technical team members
• Driven by delivering customer value and impact
• Desire to work and experiment with new technologies with a proven track record of quickly learning new technologies
• Ability to debug, analyze and profile performance in production environments
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

What would make you really stand out:

• Experience building and operating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) or search-driven AI systems in production, including document ingestion pipelines, chunking strategies, embedding generation, vector databases, and retrieval and answer generation flows.
• Experience designing and tuning Elasticsearch/Azure AI Search or hybrid search systems, including indexing strategies and relevance tuning.
• Experience with LLM orchestration, evaluation, and observability tools (e.g., LangChain, LangGraph, LangSmith), or feedback loops for AI system improvement.
• Experience designing secure, multi-tenant systems with proper identity and access control.
• Experience optimizing AI systems for performance and cost (caching strategies, token budgeting, embedding reuse).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Git, release strategies).
• DevOps process automation using ARM templates, Terraform, Bicep, or PowerShell.
• Experience integrating Kafka with other systems (databases, microservices, stream processing tools such as Kafka Streams or Streamiz.Kafka.Net).
• Experience in monitoring and tuning microservices for performance and reliability.
• Experience with unit testing frameworks such as Jasmine, Cypress .
