Medical Lab Tech

Simple Laboratories is searching for a Full‑time Medical Lab Tech for our on‑site downtown Chicago hospital location to perform lab tests in Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology/Serology, Clinical Microscopy and Microbiology. The ideal candidate has worked within a hospital environment and can work both independently and collaboratively for optimization of results. Schedule: 2nd Shift RESPONSIBILITIES Medical lab Technician /Technologist are responsible for accurately processing, analyzing and reporting laboratory results with limited supervision while maintain confidentiality and ethical standards. Must understand quality control monitoring, computer applications, troubleshooting when necessary. Follow the laboratory's established policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance. Perform a variety of routine and special laboratory procedures as authorized by the Manager or Director including rotation through at least three (3) areas of the Clinical Lab: Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Immunology/Serology, and Microbiology. Operate laboratory equipment and instruments; record data and maintain equipment. Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed. Use universal safety precautions to protect self and co‑workers from bio‑hazardous materials, including blood‑borne pathogens. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology or Chemistry. MLS, MLT license / certificate, ASCP/AMT. Minimum of one (1) year clinical laboratory experience.
