Registered Nurse - Vascular Access Team (Full Time)

The preferred schedule is 3 12-hour shifts (7:00am to 7:00pm), but there is some flexibility. Every 3rd weekend rotation. LHMC is seeking an exceptional Vascular Access RN with a minimum of 2 years of experience providing vascular access consultation, working with medical and nursing colleagues in a hospital or procedural setting, and inserting Interosseous Catheters (IOs), peripheral intravenous catheters (PIVC), ultrasound-guided peripheral intravenous catheters (USGIV), midlines and Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICCs - at least 1 year experience). Vascular Access RN will work in a Level-I-Trauma Center on a team of Vascular Access Nurses of varying skill sets, in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, infusion, procedural areas and testing areas. As such, Vascular Access RNs service a variety of vascular access devices including implanted venous access devices (IVAD, port-a-cath); a variety of tunneled and non-tunneled, temporary to permanent, dialysis catheters; Centrally Inserted Central Line Catheters (CICCs), Peripherally Inserted Central Line Catheters (PICCs), Cordis, Introducer, SwanGanz, and other venous access devices as required. Qualifications:
+ BSN preferred
+ Current BLS Certification from AHA or American Red Cross required, ACLS preferred.
+ Board Certified (VA-BC or CRNI preferred), and have the ability and aptitude to expertly insert, trouble-shoot, educate colleagues in real-time about care and maintenance of vascular access devices, risks, benefits and complication prevention.
+ Must have experience using 3CG Technology and familiarity with the use of BD Site-Rite 8 ultrasound technology for PICC placement and EPIC documentation. In addition, candidates will possess a working knowledge of best practice, including Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice Infusion Nurses' Society (INS); Michigan Appropriateness Guide for Intravenous Catheters (MAGIC); and the Strategies to prevent central line-associated bloodstream infection in acute-care hospitals: 2022 Update from the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology, et.al.(SHEA). Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects up to 25 lbs. Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager/Assistant Nurse Manager/Tertiary Team Leader, the Staff Registered Nurse: Tertiary Care practices within the Lahey Clinic Professional Practice Model, MA Nurse Practice Act, ANA Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics and demonstrates Lahey Clinic's core values that reflect its Mission.
