A well‑established, premier manufacturer is seeking a Controls Design Engineer to join their electrical design engineering team. The role will spend 40% of the time on PLC programming and 20% on electrical design. This position reports to the Electrical Design Engineering Manager. Responsibilities: Partner with a Senior Engineer to learn product and processes. Programmable logic controller programming using Allen Bradley PLC platforms. Manage multiple engineering projects and partner with mechanical engineers to complete machine design concepts. Responsible for control panel and electrical hardware design. Once trained, manage 1-6 design projects at a time. Make design changes to equipment designs. Create bill of materials for design projects. Make customized modifications to established designs. Assist sales and customer service departments with technical electrical expertise related to customer needs and quotations. Communicate with customers on equipment needs and preferences. Other duties directed by management. Qualifications: Minimum of an Associate's degree; a Bachelor's degree is highly preferred. At least three years of experience performing similar functions at an OEM or machine integrator, depending on education. Proficiency in PLC programming. Experience in electrical design, including panels and panel layout. Microsoft Office skills. Preferred but not required skills: VFD and servo control design. Strong project management.
