Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical unit, ensuring safety, comfort, and effective treatment. Collaborates with healthcare team members to deliver high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders.
• Monitor patient vital signs and assess clinical conditions regularly.
• Titrate IV drips, including heparin, based on lab results such as APTT.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records.
• Respond promptly to patient needs and changes in condition.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

Qualifications:

• Valid and unexpired state RN license.
• Current BLS and NIHSS certifications.
• Experience caring for patients with CHF, COPD, cellulitis, pneumonia, and urosepsis.
• Ability to manage multiple patients with a 1:6/7 nurse-to-patient ratio.
• Willingness to float as needed, with flexibility to adapt to census changes.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
