Position Yard Worker Location Lakeville, CT Job Id 610 Number of Openings 1 Hours Full‑time, daytime Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m., every other Saturday 7 a.m. – 1 p.m. (Winter); 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (Summer). Reviews invoice ticket information to ensure selection of proper materials. Assists customer to load purchased materials into customer's vehicle. Directs customers to additional pickup stations as necessary to complete order. Handles and processes invoice tickets in the prescribed manner. Receives delivery orders and prepares for loading onto delivery vehicles. Supports the purchasing function through the processing of delivery orders by receiving vendor paperwork and verifying product against purchase orders for accurate delivery prior to signing receiving documents. Participates in inventory counting as necessary. Assists purchasing, inventory and managers on inventory issues – i.e. defective, damaged, missing items. Maintains clean and safe work area, machines and equipment. Operates powered industrial trucks to assist in loading and/or moving materials and products. Completes daily inspection checklist on equipment assigned. Covers exposed materials, when required, to prevent weather damage. Reports building or equipment maintenance needs to appropriate manager. Participates in all required training assignments. Displays teamwork and effort in performance of all duties. Perform any other duties, responsibilities or tasks as assigned. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Demands The physical demands described include frequent communication with others, manual dexterity to operate machinery and equipment, frequent lifting and/or moving items that weigh up to 50 pounds, and occasional lifting or moving up to 100 pounds. Work Environment Employees are regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, high or precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and loud noise levels.
