As an Activities Assistant, you will plan, coordinate, and facilitate a variety of recreational activities designed to enrich the lives of seniors, including those with memory care needs. Your dedication will help foster a lively, inclusive community where residents feel valued, connected, and inspired to participate in meaningful experiences.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging activity programs tailored to residents’ interests, abilities, and care needs, including memory care and dementia support.
• Coordinate resident events such as outings, social gatherings, and therapeutic activities that promote socialization and well-being.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as mobility, dressing, and personal hygiene during events when needed.
• Build strong rapport with residents through compassionate communication and personalized attention to foster a welcoming environment.
• Manage scheduling of activities and ensure timely setup and cleanup for all events.
• Collaborate with caregiving staff, nursing teams, and family members to ensure activities align with individual care plans and health considerations.
• Maintain accurate records of resident participation and activity feedback to continually improve program offerings.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in event planning or recreational therapy within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, geriatrics, and memory support strategies.
• Familiarity with long-term care practices, home & community care services, and working with geriatric patients or individuals with disabilities.
• Strong communication skills for engaging residents effectively and coordinating with team members.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for documentation and scheduling purposes.
• Ability to develop innovative programs that promote resident engagement and well-being.
• Prior experience working with seniors in senior living facilities or similar settings is highly preferred.

Florida Background Screening Requirement:
This position requires a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Clearinghouse in accordance with Florida law. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of all required background screening.
