Job Title: Construction Laborer Job Description

This role supports the production of underground concrete duct bank boxes by performing a variety of hands-on construction tasks. You will work across multiple stations in the process, including rebar setup, form building, form preparation, and concrete pouring and finishing, while also maintaining a clean and organized work area throughout the facility.

Responsibilities
  • Set up rebar, tie rebar, and prepare reinforced steel assemblies for the next production station.
  • Assist in creating concrete forms, including cutting and measuring materials to specified dimensions.
  • Clean and oil forms before and after each assembly to ensure proper release and consistent product quality.
  • Assist with concrete pours by helping position concrete troughs and ensuring materials are correctly placed in the forms.
  • Operate vibrating tools to settle concrete and ensure it is flush and properly compacted within the forms.
  • Finish concrete surfaces once the duct bank boxes are poured and begin to cure, following required quality standards.
  • Perform general facility cleanup, including broom work, picking up trash, and keeping workstations organized and safe.
  • Move materials, tools, and components to different staging lanes as needed to support continuous production flow.
  • Carry and handle materials such as tools, boxes, and wood boards safely and efficiently.
  • Follow all site safety procedures and use tools and equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
Essential Skills
  • Concrete experience in residential or commercial environments.
  • Ability to bend, twist, stoop, and kneel for extended periods during daily tasks.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds to at or near head level safely and repeatedly.
  • Capability to carry materials such as tools, boxes, and wood boards around the job site.
  • Experience using basic hand tools in a construction or general labor setting.
  • Comfort working in general construction and outdoor labor environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 certification or other safety-related certifications (preferred).
  • Experience with landscaping or similar physically demanding outdoor work (preferred).
  • Familiarity with concrete finishing techniques and vibrating tools (preferred).
  • Ability to work overtime, including a Monday–Saturday schedule when needed.
  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to perform various tasks as assigned.

Work Environment

Work takes place on an open construction site with both indoor and outdoor tasks. Conditions include exposure to mud, wet surfaces, and cold weather, as well as high heat during the summer months. The role involves physically demanding labor, frequent lifting, bending, and kneeling, and regular use of hand tools and concrete equipment such as vibrating tools. Work schedules typically include Monday through Saturday with overtime opportunities, and you should be prepared for a fast-paced, production-focused environment where safety and cleanliness are priorities.

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
