Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Days | 10-hour shifts (0700–1700 or 0900–1900) | Expected 40 hours/week | On-site | Call required, including weekend call

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as Circulating Nurse, managing overall nursing care in the operating room and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for patients undergoing cardiac, vascular, and thoracic procedures
• Prepare the operating room including the sterile field, surgical equipment, supplies, and solutions; pass instruments, fluids, and supplies to the surgeon as needed
• Manage the sterile field and surgical specimens throughout procedures
• Perform counts of sponges and supplies in collaboration with the surgical team to prevent retained foreign objects
• Provide care for a primary population including cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgery patients (e.g., CABG, valve repair/replacement, TAVR, LVAD, VATS, open thoracotomy, endovascular repair, carotid stenting, and more)
• Maintain a 1:1 RN-to-patient ratio across a 7-suite CVOR environment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state license accepted
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience
• Prior travel nursing experience
• Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system
• Experience circulating in complex cardiac, vascular, or thoracic surgical cases
• Familiarity with robotic and minimally invasive surgical procedures
