Medical Support Assistant

Summary We are seeking an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) to provide administrative and clerical support to a Primary Care team. Key duties include scheduling and managing Veteran appointments, verifying and updating demographic and insurance information, handling consults and return-to-clinic lists, and performing receptionist and customer service tasks. The role also involves managing health insurance records, advising Veterans on travel reimbursement, participating in team meetings, and ensuring accurate electronic health record data entry. Applicants should have 2-3 years of medical administrative experience or relevant certification, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience with EMR/EHR systems is preferred. Strong communication skills, the ability to pass background checks, and completion of mandatory VA training are required. This full-time position is based on-site at the Dayton VA Medical Center, with a schedule of Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
