Learn about the Danaher Business System which makes everything possible. The Staff Scientist is responsible for new NGS assay product development and on market product support. General duties include designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, followed by communicating those results to both internal and external groups. This position reports to the Associate Director R&D and is part of the Assay Development team located in Boulder, CO and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Develop new products using a combination of wet-lab and dry-lab skillsets Support on market Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) products as a subject matter expert Present experimental demonstrations of products at scientific conferences The essential requirements of the job include: M.Sc. in a life sciences field or related discipline and 8+ years experience with NGS product development, or Ph.D. with 5+ years NGS product development experience Experience in wet-lab work preparing nucleic acids for NGS, and experience in dry-lab programming for NGS data analysis Foundational knowledge of human genetics, cancer biology, and statistics Industry experience developing and supporting NGS products with software components Experience developing bioinformatics workflows for NGS assays for non-technical users Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements: Ability to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lb Ability to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periods Ability to travel to other IDT sites or scientific conferences (< %5) It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Python programming, machine learning methods, and NextFlow developing gene expression phenotype classifiers for RNA-seq NGS methods for methylation detection IDT, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The annual salary range for this role is $120,000-$140,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees. Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
