Job Description We are searching for a Clinical Ambulatory Services Representative II – Outpatient Pediatrics Cardiology Association Houston clinic – someone who works well in a fast‑paced setting. In this position, you will provide excellent customer service as the first contact for patients, providers, and staff accessing ambulatory clinics. You will expedite the outpatient check‑in and check‑out processes by reviewing appointment status using the electronic appointment system to view information regarding appointment, insurance, and history. You will also collect pre‑visit payments and communicate with the clinic liaison regarding factors impacting the patient visit and general clinic‑patient flow. You will also secure the financial integrity of the patient’s account by verifying benefits and obtaining referrals, authorizations, and pre‑certifications. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards. Qualifications Medical Assistant certification required (choose one of the following): CCMA – Certificate Clinical MA – CCMA National Health Career Association (NHA) CMA‑AAM – Certificate Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CMA‑C – Clinical Medical Assistant Certification American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) EMT – Emergency Medical Technician Texas Department of State Health Services EMT‑A – Advanced EMT Texas Department of State Health Services EMT‑B – Emergency Medical Technician‑Basic Texas Department of State Health Services EMT‑I – Emergency Medical Technician‑Intermediate Texas Department of State Health Services EMT‑P – Emergency Medical Technician‑Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services LIC PAR – Licensed Paramedic Texas Department of State Health Services NCMA – National Certified Medical Assistant National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) NRCMA – National Registered Certified Medical Assistant National Association of Health Professionals (NAHP) RMA – Registered Medical Assistant American Association of Medical Personnel, American Allied Health, American Medical Technologists, or American Registry of Medical Assistants High school diploma or GED required 2‑years’ experience in a clinical setting required Healthcare and/or Pediatric experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred Responsibilities Perform patient registration procedures per department processes Obtain and verify patient demographic data for each encounter Confirm patient appointments, verifying demographics and insurance information Enter, batch, and reconcile charges daily Ensure interpreter services are available for patients as needed Provide basic office support including ordering and maintaining supplies, maintaining office equipment, managing correspondence, copying, faxing, mailing, and filing documents, and collecting and distributing mail Serve in key role to assure most efficient patient throughput in exam rooms About Us Since 1954, Texas Children’s has been leading the charge in patient care, education and research to accelerate health care for children and women around the world.
