HVAC Engineer

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Engineer to join a Facilities Engineering team supporting a GMP biopharmaceutical manufacturing site focused on the development and commercialization of innovative therapies. This is a highly visible individual contributor role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of critical HVAC systems that directly support cleanroom environments, product quality, and regulatory compliance. As the HVAC subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the design, operation, reliability, and continuous improvement of HVAC, air handling, and humidity control systems across both GMP and non-GMP environments. Key responsibilities include: Overseeing the design, specification, and selection of HVAC, AHU, and humidity control systems for cleanrooms, QC labs, warehouses, and facility spaces Ensuring the reliable 24/7 operation of systems supporting ISO7 / Grade C environments and associated areas Developing and improving preventative maintenance strategies, SOPs, and corrective maintenance programs Leading HVAC aspects of capital projects, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and validation Managing integration with Building Automation Systems (BAS/BMS) and Continuous Monitoring Systems Maintaining and optimizing CMMS (Blue Mountain) for scheduling, documentation, and performance improvement Partnering with Maintenance, Calibration, I&C, Validation, and Quality teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence Supporting deviations, investigations, and change control activities related to facility systems Identifying opportunities to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability while maintaining GMP compliance Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline 10+ years of HVAC experience within biotechnology or GMP-regulated manufacturing Strong knowledge of cleanroom classifications, including ISO7 / Grade C environments Experience with CMMS, BAS/BMS, and calibration and maintenance planning Working knowledge of cGMP, GDP, FDA, EU regulatory standards, and OSHA requirements Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without direct authority Why Join This is an opportunity to play a critical role in a high-performing manufacturing environment where engineering excellence directly contributes to the delivery of life-changing therapies.
