Custodian-Trash Technician

Seeking Custodians for logistics facility in Shepherdsville, KY.

• $15.50/hour
• composite or steel-toe shoes/boots required

Shifts:

• Wednesday - Saturday 7:30a-6p, Trash Tech
• Sunday-Wednesday,7:30a-6p, Trash Tech
• Sunday-Wednesday, 6p-4:30a

Essential Janitorial Duties and Responsibilities:

• General Cleaning - Restrooms, Break Rooms, Conference Rooms, etc., This is a PHYSICALLY DEMANDING position. It entails A LOT of walking (miles a day) and includes emptying trashes (heavy lifting) and cleaning outside areas (make sure to bring coat): Yard area, guard shack, smoke area, etc.

While janitorial is a good part of the services we offer, we also handle various other tasks. Tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Removing and Bailing Cardboard
• Moving and stacking Pallets
• Floor cleaning
• Fork truck operation

Qualifications:;

• Previous experience in a janitor, custodian, cleaner or housekeeping position preferred
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling greater than 50 lbs.
• Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks and exposure to hazardous chemicals
• Must have reliable transportation

The Trash Tech is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organized environment throughout the facility by collecting, transporting, and disposing of trash and recyclable materials. This position supports daily janitorial operations and helps ensure the site meets cleanliness, safety, and customer service standards.
Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and remove trash and recycling from designated areas throughout the facility.
• Replace trash liners and clean waste receptacles as needed.
• Transport waste to designated disposal and recycling areas.
• Maintain cleanliness of docks, break rooms, restrooms, offices, and production areas.
• Respond promptly to spill cleanup and other housekeeping needs.
• Operate trash compactors, balers, and other equipment safely (if trained and authorized).
• Follow all Amazon site safety policies and company procedures.
• Report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance issues to supervisors.
• Maintain inventory of trash bags and cleaning supplies.
• Work effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily cleaning schedules.

• High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, and push/pull carts for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.

• Fast-paced warehouse and distribution center environment.
• May require working nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
• Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and warehouse traffic.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, and pushing/pulling carts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work on feet for the duration of the shift.
