Registered Nurse - Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift - 3x12 hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), with weekend coverage required every 3rd Saturday/Sunday and holiday coverage for Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Med/Surg and rehabilitation, particularly with traumatic brain injury patients. This role involves providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities

• Manage a patient load of approximately 12 patients with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4/6.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions for patients with various rehabilitation needs.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, medications, and rehabilitation processes.
• Monitor and record vital signs, and report any significant changes in patient conditions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience in a Med/Surg or Rehabilitation setting.
• Experience with traumatic brain injury or in a Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) setting preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system preferred.
