FAMILY NURSE PRACTITIONER (FNP)

Nurse PractitionerSouthern Highlands Community Mental Health Center (SHCMHC) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner to join our interdisciplinary behavioral health team.In this role, you'll provide advanced clinical care to individuals receiving mental health and substance use disorder services while working in a collaborative, recovery-oriented environment. If you're passionate about improving lives through integrated behavioral healthcare, we'd love to welcome you to our team.What You'll DoAs a Nurse Practitioner, you will:Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and risk assessmentsDiagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders within your scope of practicePrescribe, monitor, and manage psychiatric medicationsProvide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), when credentialed and authorizedDevelop and monitor individualized treatment plansOrder and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as appropriateCollaborate with physicians, therapists, nurses, case managers, and other members of the treatment teamCoordinate care with hospitals, primary care providers, pharmacies, and community partnersMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Participate in quality improvement initiatives and regulatory compliance activitiesProvide education to consumers and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and treatment optionsSupport a person-centered, recovery-focused approach to careQualificationsRequiredMaster's degree (or higher) from an accredited Nurse Practitioner programCurrent, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the applicable stateNational Nurse Practitioner certification (PMHNP, FNP, or other applicable certification)Excellent clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsStrong communication and collaboration skillsAbility to maintain accurate documentation and protect patient confidentialityPreferredExperience working in behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, integrated care, or community mental healthExperience providing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)Familiarity with CCBHC and CARF standards
