The system enrolls over 500,000 students annually. It is the 3rd largest in the nation based on the number of colleges. It also provides data to the North Carolina Learning Object Repository by collecting, contributing, and sharing digital learning resources for use in traditional or distance learning environments. The mission of the North Carolina Community College System is to open the door to high-quality, accessible educational opportunities that minimize barriers to post-secondary education, maximize student success, develop a global, multicultural, and competent workforce, and improve the lives and wellbeing of N.C. citizens.**Description of Work**The State Director guides the continued evolution of NCEdge Customized Training by identifying opportunities for innovation, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and positioning the program to respond to emerging workforce and industry trends across North Carolina.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**This position leads efforts to support business growth, workforce responsiveness, talent development, and economic competitiveness through industry-driven training solutions delivered in partnership with North Carolina's community colleges, employers, workforce organizations, and economic development partners.The State Director is responsible for advancing statewide employer engagement strategies, supporting operational excellence, strengthening cross-sector partnerships, and ensuring NCEdge Customized Training remains responsive to evolving workforce and industry needs across North Carolina.This position serves as a senior leader within the Economic Development Division and works collaboratively across programs, System Office teams, community colleges, and external partners to advance integrated workforce and economic development strategies. Experience managing staff, partnerships, operations, or statewide initiatives.
