About the Position: This position is with the Joint Munitions Command located at Pine Bluff Arsenal. This position serves as a Sheet Metal Mechanic Leader, the primary purpose of this position is to apply welding skills to sheet metal items that need to be fabricated, installed or repaired.

• This position requires personal protective equipment must be used and worn to complete certain tasks.

• This position may require overtime or irregular hours when needed due to mission requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Sheet Metal Mechanic without more than normal supervision. ???????Duties which include 1. Performing welder duties using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shield welding process; 2. Repairing metal items.; and 3. Demonstrating proper work methods. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

• Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision
• Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading)
• Ability to Use Hand Tools, Power Tools, etc., for Metal Work
• Dexterity (Assembly Disassembly Reassembly etc)
• Knowledge of Equipment, Structure, Materials, etc. (Includes Constructing, Repair, and Forging)
• Layout and Pattern Development (Includes Geometric Projection and Triangulation)

• Physical Efforts: Work requires standing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching and often times working from ladders and scaffolds; often lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. and more; and often working in awkward and cramped positions for long periods of time.
• Working Conditions : Performs work indoors and outdoors, from extreme hot to extreme cold, from clean areas to extra-hot and dirty areas. Incumbent is exposed to possible injury from burns, falls, strains, cuts and bruises. Employees working in asbestos are frequently required to wear respiratory protection, coveralls, disposable outer garments, gloves and safety boots or shoes. The level of protective equipment is dependent on the measured exposures or operational needs.
