Our organization, in collaboration with a prominent medical institution, is seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Chief for the Division of Endocrinology. We are in search of a forward-thinking leader to steer a vibrant division committed to enhancing the understanding and treatment of endocrine disorders. This role involves delivering outstanding patient care, mentoring the next generation of endocrinology leaders, and engaging in impactful clinical and translational research. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of endocrine health, aligning with the mission and values of our organization and the Department of Medicine.
Key Responsibilities:- Offer strategic guidance and operational oversight for clinical, educational, and research initiatives in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism.
- Foster academic excellence through the recruitment, mentorship, and professional development of faculty and trainees.
- Encourage superior patient care and support innovative approaches to enhance quality and outcomes.
- Advance scholarly productivity in areas including diabetes, thyroid disorders, obesity, and bone metabolism.
- Collaborate with the medical school and affiliated institutions, including the Endocrinology section at a local VA hospital.
- Work alongside institutional leaders to ensure divisional objectives align with departmental, school, and health system priorities.
- A medical degree and board certification in the relevant specialty are mandatory.
- Eligibility for medical licensure in Illinois is required.
- Academic rank of Associate Professor or Professor is preferred.
- Proven success in leadership positions within an academic medical environment.
- A strong record of excellence in clinical care, education, and/or research.
- A background in funded research is advantageous but not essential.
This is a full-time faculty role offering a competitive salary that reflects experience and academic achievements.
The position includes a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, which features:
- Starting salary ranging from $159,000 to $985,945
- Compensation based on academic rank and experience
- Excellent benefits package
- Paid time off
- Coverage for malpractice insurance, including post-employment tail coverage
- Reimbursement for relocation expenses (in accordance with IRS guidelines)
- Continuing Medical Education (CME) days and allowance
- Additional benefits from the medical institution or VA, if applicable
