Machinist

In this role, you support machining and assembly operations that enable high-quality component production for space systems. You operate computer numerical control (CNC) machinery, perform assembly tasks, and contribute to a safe, efficient manufacturing environment where precision and teamwork directly impact program success.

Responsibilities

• Operates CNC machinery and related manufacturing equipment to produce components to specification.
• Assembles parts and components according to defined work instructions and production schedules.
• Uses hand tools and power tools safely to complete machining, assembly, and deburring tasks.
• Conducts quality checks on machined and assembled products to confirm conformance with standards.
• Performs basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance to support equipment performance.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work area and follows all safety protocols.
• Collaborates with team members to achieve production goals and resolve workflow issues.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in machining or manufacturing.
• Mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
• Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for machining, assembly, and deburring work.
• Attention to detail with a focus on quality control.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to evolving production needs.

Physical Requirements

• Stand and move throughout the manufacturing area for extended periods.
• Lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Perform repetitive tasks requiring manual dexterity.
• Work safely in a manufacturing environment using required personal protective equipment (PPE). The essential functions of this position must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
