The shop has been expanded to a twenty thousand square foot facility. Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled Fitter in Detroit, MI. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling, installing, and repairing structural components according to blueprints and specifications. This position requires a strong attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout requirements Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using various tools and equipment Fabricate and assemble metal components by welding, bolting, riveting, or soldering methods Inspect fabricated components to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met Perform repairs or modifications to existing structures as needed Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area Qualifications: Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings Strong knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques Ability to operate various hand and power tools safely and effectively Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong communication and teamwork skills Working Conditions: Working in a shop environment.
