Job Description
Registered Respiratory Therapist Job Overview The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) plays a vital role in delivering high-quality cardiopulmonary services. This position is responsible for implementing protocols approved by the medical staff and adhering to department policies to provide effective diagnostic and therapeutic services for both inpatients and outpatients. Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians with both invasive and non-invasive procedures.
- Administer medicated aerosols using medical compressed gas.
- Maintain airways and manage ventilators.
- Perform the insertion of arterial lines and conduct intubations.
- Conduct pulmonary function studies and cardiac and pulmonary stress tests.
- Obtain and analyze blood gas samples.
- Must possess NBRC RRT or CRT certification.
- Must hold a valid state respiratory therapy license.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required, issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience in a respiratory therapy role.
- Minimum of 1 year travel experience is preferred, but not required.
