Medical Records Assistant

Employment Type: 32 HoursLocation: Office-Based, Lewiston, MaineWe are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to manage electronic health records (EHR) and support the accurate processing of clinical documentation. This role is responsible for maintaining patient record confidentiality, processing electronic documents, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and regulatory standards.Key ResponsibilitiesManage incoming and outgoing clinical documents within the EHR system.Process physician orders, Plans of Care, Discharge Summaries, and related documentation.Scan and upload patient records and forms into the EHR.Maintain the confidentiality and accuracy of medical records.Process chart copy requests and coordinate chart storage.Order and maintain department supplies.Update department procedures and perform other assigned duties.QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.Two years of office experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.Knowledge of EHR systems and medical terminology preferred.SkillsStrong attention to detail and organizational skills.Excellent communication and customer service abilities.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.Knowledge of HIPAA and handling confidential information.Physical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 25 pounds.Prolonged sitting and computer use.Occasional standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, and stair climbing.Join a mission-driven organization dedicated to exceptional patient care, quality service, compliance, and teamwork.
