Nurse - Adult Surgical Unit

Schedule
Nights 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Every other weekend and holiday

Assignment Details
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Requirements
- Current state nursing license
- Current NIHSS certification
- CPR/BLS certification
- Education verification required

Roles & Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and state laws/practice act.
- Document according to standards of care.
- Develop, initiate, and execute a patient plan of care based on individualized needs, as prescribed by the physician and/or hospital policy, including patient and family instruction.
- Participate in performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance.
- Utilize clinical expertise to provide guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care.
- Engage in critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience, appropriately escalating issues to the appropriate chain of command.
