Onsite ASL Interpreter - Washington

Overview Propio Language Services is closing the language gap by connecting people anywhere and anytime through innovative technology and solutions. Founded in 1998, Propio Language Services provides interpreting and translation services in more than 350 languages for over 6,000 clients with a diverse and highly experienced staff and over 8,000 contract interpreters. Quality interpretation is critical to our success, and we seek interpreters who are passionate about their work. We currently have a need for Onsite American Sign Language Interpreters in the Washington area who are committed to helping people through their language skills. Contract Responsibilities: Provides consecutive in-person and virtual interpretation (by phone and video remote) on a first-person basis Follows interpreter protocols and procedures as required by Propio L.S. clients Follows all Propio L.S. policies and procedures related to information confidentiality and interpreter ethics Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and/or regulatory requirements or policies and standards Establishes and maintains quality service and positive interaction with patients, customers, visitors, health care providers, and clinical staff Continuously improves vocabulary and specialized subject matter knowledge for various clients, such as medical, legal, social services, etc. Requirements: Submission of updated resume Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED equivalent Intermediate level computer skills Access to reliable transportation Ability to provide documentation of updated vaccinations as required by location and policies (e.g., TB, MMR, Varicella, Hep B or declination, TDAP, Seasonal Influenza, Covid) Successful completion of a drug test and Background Check & Security Screen A signed commitment to confidentiality, ethics, and HIPAA compliance Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of interpreting experience Propio’s evaluation process conforms to interpreting standards defined by: National Council on Interpreting in Health Care (NCIHC) International Medical Interpreters Association (IMIA) California Healthcare Interpreters Association (CHIA) Diversity creates a healthier atmosphere: Propio is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, protected veteran status, disability status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, marital status, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by law.
