Quality Assurance Technician, 1st shift, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm $26.39/hr.+*

As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of our food products. You will be responsible for conducting inspections, tests, and audits throughout the production process to uphold our standards of excellence. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a sanitary and efficient manufacturing environment. Duties and Responsibilities Perform routine inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure adherence to quality specifications and regulatory requirements. Maintain thorough and accurate records of inspection and testing activities, including test results, deviations, and corrective actions taken; complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner. Monitor critical control points and production parameters to identify and address deviations from established standards; collaborate with production personnel to implement corrective actions as needed. Verify that equipment, facilities, and personnel adhere to sanitation standards and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); report any sanitation issues or concerns. Assist in the audits and maintenance of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) plans, participate in HACCP meetings and help identify potential hazards and control measures. Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in quality‑related projects and initiatives; collaborate with cross‑functional teams to review best practices and drive continuous quality improvement. Provide training to production personnel on quality standards, procedures, and best practices; foster a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization. Work overtime or non‑standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Perform all other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements Education/Certifications and Experience: High school diploma or GED; additional vocational training or certification in food production or manufacturing is a plus. Previous experience in food manufacturing or a similar production environment, preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Knowledge of food safety regulations (FSA, USDA) and quality assurance practices (GMPs). Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team. Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects as required; ability to stand, walk, kneel, crawl, twist, and reach daily. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment. Working Conditions and Physical Effort Work involves daily and frequent exposure to elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, odors, darkness, poor lighting, noise, and vibration. Seasonal exposure to extreme temperatures, wetness, and humidity. Work environment involves physical risks and hazards such as mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, electrical hazards, fire and explosives, and communicable diseases. Requires standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, using fine dexterity, and reaching, kneeling, crawling, and twisting on a daily basis.
