The sonographer explains procedures to patients, adjusts equipment, evaluates images, and produces comprehensive reports for perinatologists. Key Responsibilities Conduct obstetrical ultrasounds of varying complexity, including fetal echocardiography, Nuchal Translucency, CVS, and Amnio procedures. Obtain and relay detailed patient and procedural information, ensuring proper clinical history is available. Review previous studies for comparison and collaborate with specialists on tentative diagnoses. Provide patient education, explaining procedures to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation. Perform biophysical assessments, provide technical oversight, and ensure equipment maintenance. Adjust care based on patient age and condition, primarily working with adult women. Qualifications & Skills High school diploma or GED required; AA degree preferred. RDMS in OB/GYN certification required; BLS CPR certification. Two years of sonography experience preferred.
